Bowls and Club Operations Manager

Phil Crowder

Phil Crowder brings a wealth of community, business, and media experience to his role as Bowls and Club Operations Manager.

Phil spent 27 years working in his family’s real estate business on the Mornington Peninsula, where he gained extensive experience across residential sales, commercial and residential leasing and property management, and residential, commercial, and industrial sales. During this time, he also served as Branch Manager, Company Secretary, and Director. Phil was widely recognised as one of the leading auctioneers on the Mornington Peninsula and continues to conduct charity auctions for sporting clubs, community groups, and schools.

Following the sale of the family business, Phil worked for two years at the American School of Kuwait in Kuwait City as an instructional assistant and relief teacher. His roles also included swimming and soccer coach and male mentor to students. Upon returning to Australia, Phil retrained as a primary school teacher, completing a Bachelor of Education (Honours) at Monash University. He received the prestigious Chancellor’s Award and was inducted into the Golden Key International Honour Society. Phil went on to teach at Mt Eliza North Primary School and Moorooduc Primary School.

With the exception of his time in Kuwait, Phil has lived and worked on the Mornington Peninsula all his life. He attended The Peninsula School and has been an active player and committee or board member of the Peninsula Old Boys Football Club, Baden Powell Cricket Club, and Mt Eliza Bowling Club.

An accomplished bowler, Phil has won club championships at both the Mt Eliza and Karingal Bowling Clubs. He has represented the Mornington Peninsula Bowls Region (MPBR) at State Championships in pairs and as part of the regional team. He has also represented the Gippsland Bowls Region at regional level. Phil has co-hosted and presented the local Between the Bays bowling show and is a well-respected member of the bowling fraternity.

Phil is passionate about supporting people, being community-minded, and making a positive difference in the lives of others. His greatest passions are his two children, Isabella and Ian, and the game of lawn bowls.

Phil says he is grateful for the opportunity to apply his communication, people, and management skills in his role as Bowls and Club Operations Manager at Karingal Bowling Club.
