It was a great thrill today to be able to present the ‘one and only’ Elly Klok with an ‘Honorary Membership’ of the club. The bright-eyed ‘ninety-something’ who recently decided it was time to stop playing, was surrounded by friends, teammates and a field of social bowlers at the lovely afternoon tea.
Elly joined the club in 1981 to be with late husband Peter, and played at top level for most of her time – as a specialist leader. She has been one of the most popular members in our 53-year history and will continue an association with her many friends at the club.
Special mention to the ladies who organised and prepared the celebration table to honour the great lady.
