Karingal Pair win Victorian Open Mixed Pairs Title.
Philip Crowder (lead) and his partner Leonie Flynn (skip) have won this years 2023 Henselite Victorian Open Mixed Pairs title played in the Gippsland Region.
The three Finals were played at the Traralgon Bowling Club and all were live streamed by Bowls Victoria.Leonie made history by becoming the first female skipper to win the title but Philip is cheekily quick to point out that he is also the first male lead to win the title as well. Their result has made them the first Karingal Members to win a Victorian Open Championship.
Leonie plays pennant for, and is very proud of her primary club, Stratford in Gippsland and became a Karingal member last year after supporting and playing many club events and tournaments such as SUPERLEAGUE. .Leonie wore the Karingal tournament shirt during the matches and finals but respectfully and proudly changed into her ’Stratty’ shirt for the presentations.
Philip is the club’s Bowls Operations Manager which is a full time position. The club congratulates both Leonie and Philip on their achievement
